Corona Borealis Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos of Crete, fell in love with Theseus and gave him a ball of the red fleece thread she was spinning so that he could find his way out of the Minotaur's Labyrinth. Theseus killed the Minotaur, followed the thread and escaped the Labyrinth. Theseus and Ariadne left Crete together, but he abandoned her in Naxos. |
